Its kinda been intense ever since our last post. We woke up from the KOA and headed out to yellow stone. We got there in about an hour and a half, and paid the 25 dollars to get into the park. We drove around stopping at all the sites, the mud volcano (which smells terrible), sulphur caldron, various geysers before looking for a place to camp. The more time we spent in yellowstone, the more the smiles faded from our faces...
We finally just decided to go check out Old Faithful, which is pretty impressive, and get out of there. So we did.
We originally only planned on driving to Missoula, MT, as it was three hours away from the park it was already around 8 o'clock. But as the night wore on, and as more blueberry cakes were consumed, we decided just to press on to Hope, Idaho and meet jake.
It was a pretty rough drive made a little easier by the fact that Igor learned to drive. We taped a red flashlight in the rear window because our rear lights were not working (brake lights still worked though), which caused us to get pulled over by two cops just before Paradise, MT. They turned out to be pretty cool guys and joked with us about the situation (I was wearing a headlight to see my gauges) and they let me off with just a warning, although they gave me a pretty intense warning about deer and elk on the road...
So we pressed on, freaked out by the deer warning and still eating more blueberry cake. A couple hours after the cops, we we got onto the road that winds through the mountains of western Montana along the Clark Fork river, and a deer decided to meander across the road. Luckily I had been watching the road very keenly after the cops warning and was able to swerve around and miss it by just a foot.
After that, it was a pretty uneventful drive into Hope. We had talked to jake earlier and he was gonna come pick us up when we got in. Unfortunately, we rolled into the marina about 3 o'clock, and jake had fallen asleep. So we crashed in the bus until about 7:30 when jake knocked on the door.
We did do some fun activities but we are kinda in a hurry to go into town and find out where some rock climbing stuff is... Andrew! bring your harness when you fly out!

Hey where are pictures of Old Faithful? I visited there as a child and loved it. We are really missing you! I guess you are getting us ready for the fall. The pool looks better than ever but I'm not sure dad is enjoying his new role of pool boy...We only have two puppies left and hopefully Big Boy will be gone by this week. Sally and Corey are loving Vespa. Took her to the rim for a little outing on Sunday. Take care of Paige and Andrew and send more pictures and more words. love you, mom p.s.be careful and get your tailights fixed
